Charlize Theron was born on August 7, 1975 in rural Benoni, South Africa, so that shareholders and the companies building roads, Charles and Gerda. Afrikaans-speaking family lived on a working farm outside of Johannesburg, and although Theron affairs of childhood with a tendency to herd, showed her passion for dance at an early age.

In order to promote the artistic tendencies, Theron began dance lessons at age six. Her parents encouraged her budding talent, and at the age of 12 years, was sent to boarding school in Johannesburg to study dance.
